How Buying a Pork Works

We sell our Pork by the half or whole. Price is based on Hanging Weight.

$4.25 / Pound Whole or $4.50 /Pound Half

Average whole is 220 pounds, average half is 110 pounds.

Hanging weight is how much the pig weighs when the blood is drained and ‘insides’ are removed.

After the butcher is done cutting; whole pigs will yield around 130-150 pounds of meat for the freezer.

Half a pig requires around three cubic feet of freezer space. Most home freezers can accommodate, plus bulk meat is a lot of fun to share with others!
